Swamptometrist

from Solidbody Sessions by Joseph R. Ellis

/

about

This song title is a word made up of "swamp" and "optometrist." Needless to say, your vision is very important in the swamp, so you should see your own Swamptometrist before you visit any swamps.

The song features my 2000 Gibson Gary Moore signature Les Paul on rhythm and lead tracks and my 2012 Rickenbacker 4003 on the bass track. The Les Paul was recorded through a Fender Mustang III amp via USB. The rhythm track used a modified '59 Bassman amp model with a stereo tape delay and '65 Fender spring reverb. The lead track used a modified '65 Twin amp model with a simple compressor, vintage tremolo, stereo tape delay and large hall reverb. The LP was plugged straight into the Mustang III amp for the rhythm track. For the lead track, the LP was connected to a Boss V-Wah pedal set to the Crybaby setting. The RIC was recorded through a Zoom B3 Bass Effects pedal using the D2 patch, "UR No Good" which uses a phaser and compressor. The drum track was also created by the Zoom B3 pedal, recorded separately.
